I was about to name the title of this blog "Things to come" or something to that effect and I realized that I probably named a blog before the same thing... need to recreate my creative thinking.
So, there will be some interesting things happening in the Battlalion pretty soon. Most of us saw it coming, it was only a matter of time: more officer moves. I believe my position should be pretty solid for a while-but not really, I'll explain a little later. My counterparts, however, not so much. Despite being an XO for only about 6 months now, one of my fellow XOs is probably going to have to move on due to our departing S-4... that blows. Which leaves an XO vacancy... which means a platoon leader without much platoon leader time is going to become an XO... that blows as well- So it is likely one of my platoon leaders is going to be leaving. Also one of the new LTs who hasn't even been a platoon leader yet, is going to be S-1...
And it was also a matter of time: Going to go to Ranger School again on 28FEB. Did the pre-ranger the Battlaion had a while ago and now I have an official slot. I'm healthy, physicaly fit, and actually motivated. It will be a good change of pace from the slow, slugglish, monotonous garrison life/ office life. Hopefully I will still have my XO job once I get back from Ranger school...
